This week, Munich welcomed the 45th International Pueri Cantores Festival, a global gathering of more than 4,500 children, youth, and choral leaders from around the world.

The association of Catholic children’s and youth choirs "Pueri Cantores" has its roots in the peace movement that emerged after the end of the Second World War, beginning in France. Initially, it was primarily the boys’ choirs of major cathedrals that came together to form the association. Today, however, children’s, youth, boys’, and girls’ choirs from all countries are connected at the diocesan, national, and international levels.
The spirit of the Pueri Cantores community is especially evident in the regularly held congresses and choral festivals, such as the international gathering that takes place every five years over New Year’s in Rome.
This remarkable event brings together young singers from Catholic choirs to promote peace and unity through sacred music and intercultural exchange.
