Tour Suggestion
Geocaching is the synonym for the modern treasure hunt. In a nutshell: Equipped with a GPS receiver (navigation device or smartphone) and coordinates, you can find the treasures that someone else has hidden in unusual places.
Day 1: Arrival in Upper Bavaria
Welcome to Upper Bavaria. During a visit to the local museum in Lenggries, you will learn interesting facts about the history of the region connected with rafting, alpine farming or even poaching.
Day 2: Experience alpine flowers per GPS
Explore the unique flora on the Brauneck mountain (from May to September). You can hike to the summit at 1,556 m or float comfortably in a gondola. You’ll be looking for treasures with your GPS device: You’ll go exploring between Enzian, Devil’s Claw and others. After the alpine flower hike you will be rewarded with herbal schnapps. The afternoon will take you to Benediktbeuern, known for its imposing monastery. Do you know how to use wild herbs such as dandelion and nettle very easily for your own health at home? You can make your own herbal salt to take home with you.
Day 3: Open Air
Today you will visit the largest open-air museum in Southern Bavaria . You will receive a comprehensive insight into the rural life of the people of Upper Bavaria, their building culture and their working world. This includes a spectacular view of the mountains and lakes of Upper Bavaria.
In the afternoon you will continue your trip – for example to Munich or Vienna.
