Tour Suggestion
Day 1: Arrival in Austria – via Munich or Vienna
Day 2: Linz - Christkindl - Seitenstetten - Mariazell
In the morning you will make your way to the pilgrimage basilica "Seven pains of Mary". If possible, you will take part in a Holy Mass. Afterwards, your journey continues to Christkindl / Steyr where you will get to see the pilgrimage church "Zum goettlichen Christuskind". To end the day, you will visit the "Vierkanter Gottes" in Seitensttetten.
Day 3: Mariazell - Maria Taferl - Melk
Today you visit the most important place of pilgrimage in Austria - the Basilica of Mariazell with its picture of wooden image of the Virgin Mary. Here, you have the opportunity to participate in a Holy Mass. In the afternoon your journey continues to Maria Taferl.
Here you can admire the pilgrimage basilica, which is situated on a hill above the Danube.
Day 4: Melk - Duernstein - Krems
In the morning you will visit the Baroque monastery Melk. Guests will enjoy its impressive imperial rooms, the marble hall and library as well as the collegiate church and the northern bastion. Afterwards you will enjoy a boat trip on the Danube to Duernstein.
In Krems, you will visit the Kremsmünster, one of the oldest abbeys of central Europe.
Day 5: Journey home or Continue your trip
Before you start your journey home today or continue your trip, you will visit the Goettweig Monastery. The monastery was founded in 1083 by St. Altmann, bishop of Passau, and was handed over to the Benedictines in 1094. Göttweig Abbey was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2001.
