Day 1: Arrival in Munich

Welcome to the elegant, exciting city of Munich.  Your tour guide will meet you at the airport, where you will board your private coach to transfer into the city.  A scenic walking tour will give you the opportunity to admire the stately buildings surrounding the Marienplatz (Mary's Square), the centre of Old Munich.   The Old City Hall, with its gothic architecture, serves as a stunning backdrop to the Marienplatz.   The impressive and dramatic facade of the New Town Hall is enhanced by its cheerfully animated glockenspiel, which plays its merry melody to the delight of visitors.
After the tour, enjoy lunch with your tour companions.
An afternoon visit to the Deutsches Museum (German Museum) will be certain to fascinate those who appreciate the many wonders of science and technology.  This beautifully imposing museum is not only the largest in Munich, but it also houses a vast myriad of subject matter, catering to a wide variety of interests.  Everything from Aerospace, Astronomy, Computing, Music, and Tunnel Construction are represented.

Day 2: The Diversity of Munich

Your adventure begins with a visit to the Munich University of Applied Sciences.   The university is set over three campuses, currently supporting over 17,000 students in attendance.  Campus architecture across the three locations is varied, ranging from historically understated to boldly modern.   Dependent on availability, there might be an opportunity to attend a seminar.
After the University, you will visit Koenigsplatz.  Set in a peaceful park like setting featuring resplendent Neoclassical galleries and museums, Koenigsplatz is known as the cultural centre of Munich.  The elegant buildings and monuments hide the tumultuous history of the square, inflicted by the Third Reich, as you will learn in your private walking tour.   Take a moment to reflect upon the turbulent history of the Koenigsplatz in the now serene environment that it creates for all to enjoy.

After lunch, you will visit the Lenbachhaus, the art museum that combines both the old and the new world.  Originally built in the 1800 as a private villa for the famous painter Franz von Lenbach, the newly updated Lenbachhaus also features a jaw dropping modern wing addition.   A variety of painters from Munich are represented here but the highlight is the collection of internationally famous paintings created by the Munich expressionist group, Der Blaue Reiter (The Blue Rider).
This afternoon, enjoy free time in Munich.   Whether actively sight-seeing or quietly people watching, there is something for everyone in this vibrant city.

Day 3: Marvellous Munich

Today will begin with a visit to the splendidly lavish Nymphenburg Palace, one of the most architecturally stunning sites in Munich.   Originally built as a summer residence in the late 1600s for the Bavarian ruling dynasty of the time, the palace is designed in the Baroque style and is situated amongst vast gardens, complete with a man-made lake.  Dependant on your travel dates and interests, there may be the opportunity to take centre stage at the wonderful Nymphenburg Palace.   Visitors will delight in your musical interlude as you revel in this unique experience in gorgeous surroundings.
After experiencing the beauty of Nymphenburg Palace, enjoy lunch with your tour companions.
This afternoon, you will visit Ludwig-Maximilians University, home to the DenkStaette Weisse Rose (White Rose).  This memorial exhibition shares the true story of the vastly courageous White Rose Resistance Group during the second World War.   The brave students of the White Rose stood up against the powerful Third Reich, calling upon their fellow students to resist the brutal Nazi regime.  The DenkStaette Weisse Rose ensures that their sacrifice will be never be forgotten and their words still resound today.
The Englischer Garten (English Garden), with its extensive grounds complete with bridges, waterfalls, flora and fauna, awaits you this afternoon.   Enjoy the peaceful beauty of this colossal park, which is one of the largest city parks in the world.   Huge green lawns, ancient trees, and many monuments complete this urban oasis.

Day 4: The Beauty of Innsbruck

Today you will begin your journey to beautiful Innsbruck.  Along the route, there are several unique opportunities to sightsee and explore the region, dependent on the date of travel.
One option is the picturesque Munter House and garden, the birthplace of the group Der Blaue Reiter (The Blue Rider), as featured in Munich's Lenbachhaus Art Museum.  Imagine the inspiration that the founding members of Der Blaue Reiter gained from this beautiful setting.
Fairy tales become reality when you visit the idyllic Neuschwanstein Castle, imagined and brought to life by King Ludwig in the late 1800s.   With its soaring towers and imposing walls teetering on the edge of a huge rock formation, this castle also provides extraordinary panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
As you arrive in Innsbruck, you will not only be struck by the architecture, but also the majestic mountains which frame this enchanting town.   A visit to Ambras Castle, a stunning example of Renaissance design, will be certain to inspire.   Explore the vast halls and galleries of the castle, which house a colossal variety of collections including the rare and fascinating artefacts of the Chamber of Art and Curiosity.

After lunch, experience the unique creation of Audioversum (The World of Sounds).   This amazing exhibit truly examines the field of sound and perception in our world and provides fascinating insight for visitors.  Indulge your auditory senses while learning about the multifaceted world of sound.
This afternoon, you will have the opportunity to perform in one of Innsbruck's historical buildings.  Take the stage, enchanting your audience with music in this splendidly historical setting.

Day 6: The Fascinating Road to Verona

On the way to stunning Verona, you will visit the Runkelstein Castle, an awe-inspiring structure built into a colossal rock formation.  Climb the stone steps and explore this historical castle, once home to a wealthy merchant family.  View the impressive and vibrant collection of frescos dating back to the 14th century while you marvel at this remarkable stone fortress.

Tonight, you will enjoy an early dinner in preparation for a night at the stunning Arena Di Verona.  Built in the first century as a Roman amphitheatre, this gorgeous open-air structure now hosts the most amazing cultural and musical performances.   Prepare to be enthralled by centuries of cultural history while gazing at the twinkling stars overhead.

Day 7:  Magical Verona

Today begins with a walking tour of glorious Verona.   Take in the history and culture of this beautiful city, made famous by Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.   While exploring Verona, you will have the opportunity to visit several historically impressive sights.  The Piazza delle Erbe, filled with a lovely fruit and vegetable market by day, is made even more spectacular with the vividly frescoed Mazzanti houses lining the square.  At the Piazza dei Signori, formerly the governmental centre of Verona, you can view the stately Loggia del Consiglio, built in the Renaissance style. Be transported back to the 14th century at the Arche Scaligere (Scaliger tombs), where the noble Scaliger family was laid to rest many centuries ago.  The opulently Gothic tombs reflect the power of this great family and will be certain to impress.

Day 8:  Romantic Verona to Spectacular Venice

Today, you will travel to Venice, a city filled with canals and romance.  Venice, with its many dazzling waterways filled with gondolas, its palatial yet ancient houses, and its beautiful art and architecture, makes a truly dramatic impression on its visitors. 
A walking tour will provide a spectacular orientation of this splendid city.  The Piasa San Marco (St. Mark's Square), is impressively grand and flanked by gorgeous architecture.   View St. Mark's Basilica, the grand Gothic cathedral of Venice, made internationally famous by its collection of mosaics, Saints' bones, and treasury.  Explore the rich history of this incredible city while admiring the many stunning buildings and monuments of Venice.

Day 9: Vibrant Venice

After enjoying a fine Venetian breakfast, you can choose your own path for the morning.  Discover Venice on a walking tour, specializing in photography opportunities.   Capture perfect memories with your camera while you admire the magnificence of this floating city.   Your other option is to explore the Venetian Ghetto, which is steeped in cultural history and importance.  Dating back to 1516, this Jewish ghetto is the oldest in the world.   The district, to this day, serves as an important cultural centre of Jewish life in Venice.

Day 10: Venice at your Leisure

Start your day with a visit to the Galleria de L´accademia, an art gallery which houses spectacular works of Venetian art, created prior to the 19th century.   View the magnificent secular and non-secular art and portraits by celebrated Venetian artists.

Leisure time in Venice.  Relax in a romantic piasa, stroll the quaint laneways, or visit one of Venice's many museums or galleries.

Day 11: Fabulous Florence

This morning, you will journey to glorious Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance.  Lunch will be enjoyed with your tour companions on the way to your beautiful destination. 
Upon arrival, you will set out to explore Florence on a private walking tour.   Admire the Ponte Vecchio, the medieval enclosed bridge housing many jewellery and art shops.   A stop at the imposing Palazzio Vecchio, the Town Hall of Florence which looks more like a fortress, will create a unique photo opportunity.   Enjoy yourself while becoming acquainted with the sun drenched centre of the Renaissance era.

Day 12: Art and Architecture of Florence

Your day begins with a visit to the Uffizi Gallery, home to many art masterpieces donated by the Medici family, the great ruling family of Italy for many generations.  Commissioned by the Medici family in the 1500s, the gallery was originally intended for use as offices (uffizi) for the magistrates of Florence.  Today, the magnificent building is filled with countless pieces of art and is one of the most visited art galleries in the world.

This afternoon you will have the opportunity to tour the Basilica di San Lorenzo, a church of great historical interest and importance.   This church also is home to the great Medici family's final resting place.
Prepare for your musical performance this afternoon at one of Florence's beautiful historical churches. Enjoy this special moment to showcase your repertoire, as musicians have been doing for centuries in this magnificent location.

Begin your journey home or spend an additional day in Florence to enjoy this spectacular city.
