Tour suggestion
Day 1: Arrival to Mayence
After your arrival at Frankfurt International Airport, you will take the train to Mayence and check into your hotel. Afterwards you depart for a guided walking tour of the old city center of Mayence. This tour will be completed with a dinner in a typical German pub. Overnight in Mayence.
Day 2: Mayence
Today you will explore Mayence more in depth. There will be a visit of the Kaiserdom (Cathedral), St. Stephen’s Church with its rare blue windows designed by Chagall and the Gutenberg Museum where you can see the Gutenberg Bible. In the evening, you will have another opportunity to try the delicious German food in a pub. Overnight in Mayence.
Day 3: Bacharach
After breakfast, you will take the train to Bacharach. Here, you will stay at the castle “Stahleck” – this youth hostel has a unique position being situated at the top of the hill offering fascinating views on the Rhine valley. After check-in, you will stroll around the village and go on a Rhine river cruise. You will see the famous pirate’s castle and the Loreley. Dinner and overnight in Bacharach.
Day 4: Cologne
In the morning, you will leave for Cologne. After check-in, you will walk to the cathedral, the town’s famous landmark. Moreover, you will visit the interesting Roman Museum close-by. In the afternoon, there will be a visit of the Chocolate Factory. If there is enough time left, you have the opportunity for some shopping. Dinner and overnight in Cologne.
Day 5: Amsterdam
In the early morning, you will take the train to Amsterdam. After you checked into your airport hotel, you will explore the city center of Amsterdam by foot. You will visit the Anne Frank House. In the evening, you will take a boat cruise. Enjoy a delicious pizza while gliding gently through Amsterdam’s small canals! This is the perfect farewell to an impressive tour through Germany and Amsterdam.
Day 6: Departure
In the morning, breakfast and departure.
