Learn moreAfter completing a degree in business economy at the university of Innsbruck I started my career at a large German travel agency in Southern Germany. To gain international experience I then worked in key accounts at a large airline in New York City.
Back in my home region South Tyrol I managed a large skiing area, and following that I was employed as managing director in a leading British incoming agency. In April 2002 I returned to Munich to found and establish APPINA TRAVEL together with Uli Gerstmeier. I am married and have two sons.

Learn moreI completed a Master degree of history and theology in Tübingen. While studying I spent 15 months at the university in Rome where I also worked as city and travel guide. After my university studies I worked with a large agency for package travel. Following this, I transferred to Berlin where I helped establish an incoming agency in the position of general manager.
After working for a few more years with another agency for package travel Luis Lintner and I founded APPINA TRAVEL GmbH in March 2002. I am married and have a son and a daughter. Additionally I give lectures on innovative product design for group tours at the FH Kempten.

After that, my curiosity for travelling and discovering new things was greater than ever. After school, I trained as a hotel manageress and then worked at reception for a while. It was clear to me early on that I wanted my professional life to be closely linked to tourism. After a thorough examination of various courses on offer, I decided to study tourism management at Kempten University of Applied Sciences, idyllically situated near the Alps. My interest in unusual tours, which I designed and put together for myself, my family and friends, became my hobby. That's why I applied for my internship at Appina Travel, which turned out to be the start of my career. Since then, I have successfully integrated my passion into my job.

My neighbours were running holiday apartments and hotels, so pretty soon I got involved in the travel industry. On the age of 18 I start to lead groups and studied in Bologna and Rome Sustainable Tourism. Afterwards I worked on several projects and for tour operators in Italy, Australia and Great Britain. Now back in Italy and after 20 years in the industry I am doing my best to find the best quality/price hotels and service for your clients. Learn moreBefore I lost my heart to tourism, research and writing was my greatest passion. Pursuing my career aspiration of becoming a journalist, I studied political science in the Baltic Sea cities of Greifswald and Rostock. Furthermore, I was on the road as a local reporter in Saxon Switzerland researching behind the scenes for an online news magazine.
My fascination for travel eventually turned into a firm career choice: I decided to train as a tourism clerk in a travel agency in Dresden and then gained two years of experience in a well-known large online travel agency in Berlin. The most defining periods were definitely in Peru and Sweden. In the Peruvian capital Lima I worked 1 year for an incoming agency and in Stockholm almost 2 years also for a well-known DMC for group travel. Since the mid-1980s I've been to a mountain hut in East Tyrol regularly and have undertaken many impressive mountain and ski tours in Bavaria, Austria, Italy and the Pyrenees. In the north the mountains combined with the sea are very attractive. I have been to Norway many times and in Greenland, I gained so much insight about this great island simply by traveling with a tent and gazing at the Ice bergs.
