Day 1: Arrival
Take a city tour to discover the Bavarian capital Munich.
Day 2: A culinary and historical tour of Upper Bavaria
Discover a huge variety of culinary pleasures during an exceptional taste tour through the Viktualienmarkt. Then delve into the rural past of Bavaria by visiting the Glentleiten open-air museum situated among the beautiful alpine foothills. This impressive facility consisting of nearly 60 buildings authentically furnished and equipped provides a living snapshot of life way back. End the evening on a “Bavarian” note at a traditional 3-course menu with Bavarian folk music.
Day 3: Summit scalers – Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the Zugspitze
Garmisch-Partenkirchen is one of the most famous resort towns in the Bavarian Alps. After an impressive city tour to introduce the Olympic city, you will continue on to the highest mountain in Germany: the Zugspitze. A cog-wheel train takes you directly to the only glacier in Germany, the Zugspitzplatt. The glacier cable car then takes you to the summit where you can enjoy an alpine panorama of four countries! Take the Eibsee cable car to the beautiful Eibsee lake, and then the cog-wheel train back down to lower elevations.
Day 4: “The fairy tale prince’s castle” – Neuschwanstein castle
The reclusive king Ludwig II built the castle between 1869 to 1886 “in the traditional romantic style of old German knight’s castles” in order to escape into a fantasy world away from the public, but after his death, it became the most visited castle in Europe. As a finale, visit the “Wiesn-Stadl” where an Oktoberfest and après-ski atmosphere keep the party going all year round (every Friday and Saturday night).
