Day 1: Arrival Black Forest
Revitalize yourself at a traditional Black Forest guild buffet with musical accompaniment. Dinner and overnight stay in the area of the Black Forest.
Day 2: The accessible Rothaus
Take time to visit the Baden State Brewery (only Mon - Fri) and enjoy a traditional brewer’s meal or a farmhouse-style vesper. Afterwards, we invite you to a small Black Forest sightseeing trip. Obviously, we would gladly arrange an alternative visit to a smoked-gammon factory. Dinner and overnight stay in the area of the Black Forest.
Day 3: Upper Bavaria and the Andechs Monastery
Past Lake Constance (if requested, an in-between stop is possible), we continue towards Upper Bavaria. If you want to, and time allows, we will gladly organize lunch in a brewer's inn. Discover the Andechs monastery. As a place of encounter and orientation, the monastery is after all a sought-after attraction for visitors from all over the world because it abounds in cultural wealth. Already in the Middle Ages, people brewed beer in Andechs. Documentary evidence goes back to Albrecht III, the Duke of Wittelsbach, who founded the Benedictine abbey on the mountain of Andechs in 1455. Besides a guided tour of the brewery, we will also organize a guided tour of the church for you. Afterwards, you will enjoy a solid meal. Overnight stay in Munich / Upper Bavaria.
Day 4: Traditional and Modern Munich
Explore the city of Munich by tram (from the end of May to beginning of October). Afterwards enjoy a veal sausage breakfast (German: Weisswurst). In the afternoon you can spend your time either on a shopping tour or exploring the city on your own. The remainder of the day concentrates on Bavarian traditions. Spend an unforgettable evening in a cosy brewery. Alpenhorn blowers, yodellers, bell chimers, shoe slap dancers and whip crackers are accompanied by the chapel-band to the tune of Bavarian folk music. In addition, a traditionally Bavarian pub buffet (Wirtshaus) is on offer. Overnight stay in Munich / Upper Bavaria.
Day 5: Hops country
Take the original German hops route connecting Freising, Au i.d. Hallertau and Abensberg through the Hallertau. The Hallertau is, with its approximately 14.400 hectares of hops land, the largest coherent hops producing area in the world. Optionally, we offer you the opportunity to visit a hops producing facility (only during harvest time from the end of August to middle September). Continue to Abensberg, where Kuchlbauer's beer world expects you - experience the bliss of beer and art. Here one does not only come to grips with the art of brewing Bavarian beer, one can also see the largest coherent piece of art (Leonardo da Vinci's "Last Supper") in the vaulted cellar. Correct pouring and ceremonial chinking of mugs are only some of the events during the wheat beer (German: Weissbier) tasting. Dinner and overnight stay in the area of Regensburg.
Day 6: Bamberg and departure
The last stage of your journey is Bamberg. During an extensive round trip you come to realise just how unique Bamberg really is. The historic old town ensemble of cathedral, churches and monasteries, with bridges, narrow passages and places, with timber framed houses and baroque facades has preserved the magic of the past to the present day. We will gladly organize a cosy noon snack with tasting of the spicy, unmistakable Schlenkerla smoke beer for your group. Departure.
