The regions of “Berchtesgadener Land” in south-east Germany and its Austrian neighbour “Salzburger Land” are well known for their beautiful landscape scattered with mountains, lakes and some of the largest salt mines in Europe.

Day 1: Arrival in Munich
After arrival, you make your way to the German/Austrian border. How about a stop in Munich? A guided city tour of Bavaria’s capital would make the most out of your upcoming trip. Afterwards, you’ll continue your journey to the region of Berchtesgaden/Salzburg.

Day 2: Underground sightseeing & boat trips on the lake
After breakfast, you’ll venture on a fascinating salt journey through time as you visit one of the largest salt mines in Europe. Wooden slides take you down to that "white gold"; once the most important currency. You are given all kinds of interesting facts on the mining and processing of salt.
The highlight of the day is a boat trip on Lake Koenigssee. Enjoy the mountainous world of Berchtesgaden from your boat and experience the world-famous echo, which the boatman lures from the rocky slope with his trumpet. Dinner and accommodation at a hotel in the area Berchtesgadener Land/ Salzburg.
Day 3: Trip to summit & fine liqueur
Today you take the breathtaking Kehlstein road to the comfortable elevator that will convey you over a distance of 124 meters in only 41 seconds to the interior of the famous Kehlstein house, also known as the Eagle's Nest. The imposing construction work with its meter thick foundation walls unleashes an imposing view of the mountainous Berchtesgaden country side to you. The guided tour reveals all you want to know about the history of the construction work, as well as the unfolding of the early war events. Afterwards, you can enjoy the excellent regional cuisine in the mountain restaurant at a height of 1834 meters. To round off the day, you visit a traditional gentian (Enzian) distillery, where, after a short guided tour, you have the opportunity to try out the different kinds of mountain gentian. Day 4: Excursion to Mozart's city of birth
Discover the birth city of the ingenious and world-famous composer W. A. Mozart in the midst of a magnificent scenery. Imagine, during your guided city tour, the thrill of the courtly and baroque lifestyle and consider more unknown details from the biography of this child prodigy. Take the opportunity to make the ascent to the symbol of the city, the castle of Hohensalzburg. From there you get to enjoy a unique view over the city and its numerous sights. In the afternoon you have time to allow the impressions to sink in over a coffee melange and the city’s most well-known treat, the “Mozartkugel”. Day 5: Excursion to the chamber of salt
Today you undertake an excursion to the cradle of salt, the “Salzkammergut”. Enjoy the magnificent nature and the diversity of the 5-lake countryside while you relax on a boat trip on Lake Wolfgangsee. Round off your day with coffee and cake in an idyllic restaurant.
