Day 1: Arrival in Berlin
Day 2: City Tour Berlin & The Berlin-Hohenschönhausen Memorial
On a tour with main focus on “Nazi Fascism” you will see traces and places of the Nazi regime. Hitler used prestigious locations for his flag and torch parades to blind the world. His actual plans to deal with people were soon to be seen in new despicable laws, book burnings, preparation for World War II and the murder of millions of people. The infamous central offices of Nazi planning and control were Hitler's Reichschancellery, Goebbel's Propaganda Ministry, Göring's Ministry of Air Force, and the terrifying Gestapo Headquarters which are now a memorial of Nazi terror. Discover what is left of the former "Deathstrip" on the "Historic Mile" between Checkpoint Charlie and Potsdam Square. Hear about the construction of the "Wall" in 1961, its breathtaking fall in 1989 and about life in a divided city during the period of time in between. In the afternoon you will visit the Stasi Museum, a formerly prison. From here the last minister Erich Mielke commanded the Ministry for State Security or so called “Stasi”. Dinner and overnight stay in Berlin.
Day 3: Memorial Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp
The Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp was built in the summer of 1936 by concentration camp prisoners from the Emsland camps. It was the first new camp to be established after Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler was appointed Chief of the German Police in 1936. The redesign of Sachsenhausen Memorial encompasses an overall decentralizing concept, giving visitors the opportunity to learn about the history of the places within the authentic surroundings. Free time in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay in Berlin.
